There has been a slight delay for Lord Ambermaze, which was supposed to be released today. However, HeroCraft PC, in collaboration with indie studio Potata Company, has released a free demo on Steam. It offers players an early taste of the whimsical yet perilous turn-based puzzle dungeon crawler. Moreover, the game will launch fully on September 2, 2025.
Set on a mysterious island where the world moves only when you do, Lord Ambermaze combines intricate puzzles, tactical combat, and touches of lighthearted storytelling. The adventure begins innocently with a quiet fishing trip, but events quickly turn dire when your sister is kidnapped by the elusive Lord Ambermaze, pulling you into a desperate rescue mission through shifting labyrinths.
The demo introduces the core mechanics in a tutorial and the first biome. This allows players to navigate their initial dungeons while mastering the unique move and world moves system. Along the way, you will encounter six distinctive enemy types and one formidable boss, each requiring careful positioning and strategic thinking to defeat.
Upgrades and new abilities expand both your combat options and puzzle-solving skills, ensuring each step of the journey feels more dynamic. Challenge rooms add variety with mini games inspired by shell games, Sokoban puzzles, and other brain-teasing diversions.
