A Unique Adventure Awaits in Dodo Duckie
Indie developer BornMonkie has announced Dodo Duckie, a whimsical puzzle platformer set to arrive on Steam in early 2026. The game follows Dodo, a farm-dwelling duck whose peaceful life is turned upside down when aliens suddenly abduct all the chickens. With no one left to help, Dodo steps out of the coop and into a multidimensional rescue mission.
Set in a charming, hand-crafted world, players will guide Dodo through a series of inventive puzzles and platforming challenges. Classic 2D mechanics like jumping, coin collecting, and exploration form the core of the gameplay. But as the story unfolds, Dodo gains new powers like the ability to flip the level’s perspective, transforming how players interact with each environment.
The game combines traditional puzzle elements with perspective-shifting mechanics, blending 2D and 3D thinking in a way inspired by titles such as Fez, Gris, and Paper Mario. As players progress, they will uncover secrets, meet quirky characters, and explore alternate views of each level. They will also unlock new paths, treasures, and solutions along the way.
Dodo Duckie marks BornMonkie’s second project and their first venture into PC gaming. Co-founder and game producer Samveda describes it as cozy and delightfully goofy. He said, “Imagine Fez met Super Paper Mario – that’s Dodo Duckie. It’s cozy and delightfully goofy, with a duck that has main-character energy!”
With its lighthearted tone, layered puzzles, and dimension-swapping gameplay, Dodo Duckie promises a heartfelt adventure for players of all ages when it waddles onto Steam in 2026.
