BioShock 4 Will Come Out
Fans of BioShock have been wondering about the future of the series after reports claimed that BioShock 4 failed an internal review and that Cloud Chamber studio head Kelley Gilmore was removed from her position by 2K Games. According to those reports, the game faced major development hurdles, sparking fears of cancellation.

Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of 2K Games, has reassured players that BioShock 4 is still happening. Speaking to IGN, Zelnick said, “It’s going to come out. That I can say hand on heart, without question … We don’t talk about how long our development cycles are. We have had some ups and downs along the way. That is accurate. And we have had changes in studio leadership. That said, we have very big shoes to fill on BioShock because of the legacy of Ken Levine, the legacy of what has gone before, which has been so successful. And we need to make sure that this experience is true to the BioShock DNA on the one hand, and a massive step forward on the other hand. That’s always challenging. We think we’re up to the challenge, but it has not been seamless.”
The same report also revealed that a planned remake of the original BioShock was canceled earlier this year. 2K Games responded by calling Cloud Chamber’s current project a “good game” and reiterated its goal of delivering a “great one.”
It has been over a decade since the last main entry, 2013’s BioShock Infinite. Attempts to adapt the series for film have also faced delays. Director Francis Lawrence is currently working on a BioShock movie for Netflix, with Terminator: Dark Fate writer Justin Rhodes having written a new script draft.
Meanwhile, BioShock creator Ken Levine is working on his new game, Judas, at Ghost Story Games. Published by Take-Two, the project has no confirmed release date yet.
