Each time someone knocks, players must decide whether to open the door or take medication. If the hallucination fades or returns to normal, it is considered safe to proceed. However, if the illusion persists, the correct course of action is to take your medication. It is a rule that may initially confuse players, but the developers ensure it becomes second nature with time.
In contrast to traditional horror games that rely on grotesque imagery, “Who’s at the Door?” emphasizes subtle psychological tension. Strange appearances are not always signs of danger. Instead, the focus is on what changes and what remains the same.
The developers also note that the full version will offer clearer guidance than the demo, helping players better understand its unusual mechanics early on.
