Clear River Games and Japanese developer and publisher City Connection have announced the release date for Mamorukun ReCurse!. This modern remaster of a cult classic arcade shooter will launch on September 25, 2025. It will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. Mamorukun ReCurse! is a modern reimagining of the cult classic arcade shooter that blends fast-paced vertical shooting with a striking pastel aesthetic. Players will follow Mamoru, who wakes in the Netherworld after an untimely death, only to be thrust into a desperate battle to stop the World of Darkness from consuming everything. Alongside Fululu, Mayuno, Kinya, and Beniko, Mamoru must push back the invasion through a gauntlet of challenging stages and strange enemies.
The game’s signature mechanic, the Curse Bullet, adds a unique risk and reward layer to gameplay. Players can use it to clear projectiles, boost enemy strength, or eliminate smaller threats. The more daring the strategy, the greater the potential rewards.
