Bad Ridge Games and V Publishing have announced that Mirthwood, the medieval life sim RPG, will receive a major Co-op update on July 10, 2025. Unveiled during ClemmyGames’ Best Indie Games Summer Showcase, the update introduces local multiplayer and Steam Remote Play, allowing two players to experience the Freelands of Mirthwood together.

The update adds drop-in and drop-out local co-op with a shared dynamic camera that adjusts as both players move through the world. From farming and crafting to combat and exploration, all core gameplay systems now support multiplayer. Player 2 will have access to the full feature set, including skill progression, mount riding, and inventory management, all while maintaining their own stats and equipment.

One of the standout additions is the ability for co-op partners to marry and raise a child. Children inherit traits from both parents, grow over time, and eventually leave to begin their own lives, adding a generational element to the game.

Combat improvements also arrive with this update. A directional attack indicator, enemy lock-on, and various performance optimizations enhance the overall gameplay experience for both solo and co-op players. While this update focuses on local and Steam Remote Play support, online co-op is currently in development and will be added in a future release.

Mirthwood’s Co-op update goes live on July 10, inviting players to build, battle, and explore the medieval world together.
