Shape The Future In Fractured Core
Engram Interactive and indie.io have announced that Fractured Core will launch on Steam on August 13, 2025. In this turn-based JRPG, players step into the combat gear of a rookie Raven operative working for Athena, a prestigious private military company operating in a high-stakes world of cyberpunk intrigue, corporate warfare, and espionage.
Set across futuristic Germany and Italy, the game presents a world where gleaming skyscrapers and sleek urban landscapes mask a brutal reality. Wealthy elites indulge in human augmentation, biomods, and psionics, while violent corporate conflicts unfold in the shadows. As part of Athena, players take on covert missions ranging from espionage and high-value target extractions to bioweapon facility cleanups under the command of a seasoned officer.
Fractured Core blends narrative depth with classic JRPG mechanics. Characters evolve through a refined progression system, gaining new skills, health, and combat abilities as they level up. Players can use psionic powers like fireballs, ice crystals, or even summon a portable minigun. Enemies are equally well equipped, making strategy crucial, especially when facing mixed security units or powerful bosses.
Customization is central to gameplay. Equipment and mods allow players to tailor each squad member to suit different strategies, whether balanced, hyper-aggressive, or completely unconventional. According to producer Timoteus Ivan Suprapto, one test build allowed a tank character to land a single strike, dealing six-digit damage.
