GameScience has announced that Black Myth: Wukong will go on sale for the first time across all platforms beginning June 18, 2025, at 00:00 CST (UTC+8). Coinciding with the discount, Xbox players will finally be able to pre-order the game ahead of its console launch on August 20, 2025. Preorders will match the limited-time promotional offer in price. Originally released on August 20, 2024, Black Myth: Wukong made an immediate impact. Within just three days, it sold 10 million copies globally across all platforms. The game also broke records on Steam, achieving the highest ever concurrent player count for a single-player title, according to SteamDB.
The game blends mythology-inspired storytelling with cinematic visuals and fast-paced, skill-based combat. Players take on the role of the Destined One, wielding Wukong’s iconic staff, the Jingubang, in battles against a host of mythological enemies. The gameplay offers deep customization, allowing players to create unique strategies using a variety of Spells, Transformations, and Vessels.
A free DLC released in December 2024 added a new combat challenge. It expanded the game’s content and reinforced its place as a standout in the action RPG genre.
The upcoming 20% discount applies to all editions, with North American pricing reducing the Standard Edition from $59.99 to $47.99 and the Deluxe Edition from $69.99 to $55.99. The sale and Xbox preorder discount will run until July 11, 2025.
