Combatting the Rise of Boosting Services in Competitive Call of Duty Play
Activision has issued a stern warning to Call of Duty Warzone players engaging in the use of ‘boosting services’ to artificially inflate their Skill Rating (SR). In recent weeks, there has been a surge in reports of ‘bot lobbies’ or boosting lobbies, where cheaters exploit these services to swiftly climb the ranks.
The prevalence of boosting lobbies has posed a significant challenge to Warzone’s integrity, with complaints surfacing about the upper echelons of the leaderboards being dominated by players who have unfairly boosted their rankings.
Responding to these concerns, Activision’s TeamRicochet initiated multiple ban waves resulting in the expulsion of 29,000 accounts. Alongside these actions, Activision issued a clear warning to those tempted by boosting services, asserting that artificially inflating SR will not be tolerated, and offenders will face account bans.
Furthermore, Activision has pledged to pursue legal and technical measures to dismantle the operations of those providing boosting lobbies. The company emphasized its commitment to maintaining fair play and ensuring a level playing field for all Warzone competitors.
As Activision remains vigilant in its efforts to combat cheating within the Call of Duty franchise, the company is simultaneously expanding the gaming experience by introducing Call of Duty Warzone Mobile. This new mobile iteration of the immensely popular franchise brings the action-packed gameplay of Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone to the mobile platform, allowing players to enjoy their favorite Call of Duty experience on the go.
One of the key features of Call of Duty Warzone Mobile is its cross-progression functionality, which enables seamless progression across multiple platforms. Whether players are engaging in intense firefights on their consoles, PC, or mobile devices, their progress, unlocks, and achievements will carry over, ensuring a consistent and cohesive gaming experience across platforms.
