Meet the Talented Minds Crafting the Next Chapter of Cyberpunk
CD Projekt’s highly anticipated sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, codenamed Project Orion, is currently in the early stages of development, and new details have emerged regarding the talented individuals shaping its creation. Leading the charge is a team of seasoned veterans from the original game, each bringing their expertise to the table.
Hailing from CD Projekt’s new office in Boston, Massachusetts, key figures such as game director Gabriel Amatangelo, creative director Igor Sarzyński, and engineering director Kacper Kościeński are spearheading the sequel’s development. Joining them are industry veterans who have recently joined the studio, including former Blizzard lead product manager Dan Hernberg, IO Interactive and Massive Entertainment’s Ryan Barnard as design director, and Mortal Kombat technical director Alan Villani as engineering director.
Adding depth to the game’s narrative is lead writer Anna Megill, known for her work on titles like Control and Dishonored: Death of The Outsider. Accompanying her is acclaimed novelist and comic book writer Alexander Freed, whose experience spans iconic franchises such as Star Wars: The Old Republic and Fable.
Despite Cyberpunk 2077’s turbulent launch, the game has seen a significant resurgence, with over 25 million copies sold and the recent success of its expansion, Phantom Liberty. The announcement of the sequel in October 2022 generated immense excitement, further fueled by hints of potential multiplayer integration.
