The Rumoured Halo Battle Royale Game Has Allegedly Been Cancelled
Microsoft’s potential Halo Battle Royale has reportedly been shelved according to XboxEra co-founder Shpeshal_Nick. It was revealed by Shpeshal_Nick on a recent episode of the XboxEra Podcast. The existence of a Halo Battle Royale game has been a topic of speculation since the release of Halo Infinite in 2021, However, recent comments suggest it is no longer in development.
The battle royale was rumoured to be under development at Certain Affinity, a support studio. However, Microsoft and Halo developer 343 Industries have never officially confirmed its existence.
Despite the tease, there has been no official word on the Halo Battle Royale from Microsoft or 343 Industries. Certain Affinity’s tweet in April 2022 suggested a collaboration with 343 Industries on Halo Infinite’s evolution, but details remained undisclosed.
The last substantial update on the battle royale game came in January 2023, with Bloomberg reporting potential shifts away from the battle royale concept. Now, Shpeshal_Nick’s recent statement raises questions about the fate of the unannounced project.
