Nomad Games and Dovetail Games have officially released CATAN – Console Edition on the Nintendo Switch. It is now available on the Nintendo eShop for $19.99 / £16.99 for the standard edition. The game is already available on the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One since February.
There are also two special edition versions for the Nintendo Switch: The Deluxe Edition costs $24.99 / £19.99. It includes the base game plus five extra ‘Championship’ boards previously used in real-life Catan World, European and American championships.
Meanwhile, the Super Deluxe Edition costs $29.99 / £24.99. It comes along with the base game, the five Championship boards, and the game’s first expansion, The Helpers. The expansion adds 12 new characters called Helpers. They have specific skills that can be used to gain advantage in developing the community.
In CATAN, players will become settlers on an island. They will compete with one another in building settlements, cities, roads, and armies to claim the region for their own. Everyone can enjoy the game in both offline and online. There is also a single-player mode where players can take on AI opponents.
Additionally, just like the other versions, the game will support the Card Companion system on Switch, allowing players to access it on their phones. This allows a group of players to play a local match on the TV without seeing the cards in their opponent’s hand.
