Gangs of Sherwood Release Gameplay Overview Trailer

Become a Merry Band 

Welcome to the Sherwood Forest, England. It’s time for you to become a hero and stand up for the oppressed. Of course, you’re going to need to learn who your friends are, and what skills they have. Today, developer Appeal Studios and publisher NACON are happy to unveil a new gameplay overview trailer for their action-adventure game, Gangs of Sherwood. Inviting players to step into the roles of some of Robin Hood’s merry men, the game offers a co-op experience full of customizable gameplay. Importantly, the new trailer gives players a glimpse of the characters, their unique gameplay mechanics, the combat, and even bits of the narrative.

Gangs of Sherwood introduces players to an alternate reality England, where Richard III discovered an ancient artifact known as the Lionheart. This magical artifact provided great technological advancements for the kingdom. However, the sheriff of Nottingham stole the artifact for himself, using it to oppress the people. Now, players take on the role of one of four merry men, Maid Marian, Friar Tuck, Little John, and of course, Robin of Locksley, as they fight for freedom. Players can select from these four characters, each with customizable abilities, combos, and more. 

Interestingly, each character works with one another. However, the game itself can be played single-player through the entirety of its story. Of course, players are able to check out some of the gameplay capabilities in the new trailer. Additionally, the trailer shows off how the game blends technology and fantasy in one. Gangs of Sherwood is releasing on November 2nd, 2023. It will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam and Epic Games Store.
