TMNT: The Last Ronin Revealed at THQ Nordic Digital Showcase

I Thought Michelangelo was a Party Dude

Yesterday, THQ Nordic held their virtual showcase of some of the games they have been working on. They have said that they have over 30 titles in development, 20 of which remain unannounced even after the showcase ended. One of the titles they have just revealed is TMNT: The Last Ronin.

This game will be the adaptation of one of the most famous comic book arcs in TMNT publishing. It follows an alternate universe scenario where all but one of the Turtles are killed. Michelangelo, the once fun-loving, easy-going, goofiest of the bunch, is now on a quest to avenge his master and brothers.

TMNT: The Last Ronin

TMNT: The Last Ronin takes place in a future where New York is ravaged by the Foot Clan. Michelangelo carries his brothers’ weapons with him into battle and is reunited with some friends he thought were long gone.

The teaser for the game doesn’t show any gameplay, but we see a thematic set up. Four lit candles get blown out one by one, with imagery of death an battle behind them, until just one remains.

Rather than just his Nunchaku, Michelangelo will likely be able to use all of his brothers’ weapons in this game. This is a stark difference from other TMNT games, where you select a character with their own weapons.

There is no release date yet, but TMNT: The Last Ronin will be launching on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
