Diddy Kong Racing: The Classic N64 Kart Game Worthy to Be On Switch

Diddy Kong Racing Is Underrated

Does Diddy Kong Racing deserve to be on Switch? We finally got an answer to that question. If you grew up in the 90s and had a Nintendo 64 console, we bet you owned at least one Kart game. Mario Kart 64 was the first Mario Kart game for almost every gamer and the most influential one.

Thanks to Nintendo Switch Online and the Expansion Pack, you can still play Kart games on Switch. You get popular titles like Super Mario Kart, Mario Kart: Super Circuit, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. That is four different titles on one system. (Kudos to Nintendo).

The Senior Video Producer at Nintendo Life, Alex Olney just said, “The best Mario Kart game isn’t on Switch”, and he wants to talk about it. Mario Kart wasn’t the only kart racer on the N64. Rare got a piece of the action too with the incredible Diddy Kong Racing.

Mario Kart wasn’t the only kart racer on the N64. Rare got a piece of the action too with the incredible Diddy Kong Racing. This game introduced several iconic Rare characters like Conker, Banjo, and Tiptup, making it their debut.

We all know that you would say, “But wait, Diddy Kong Racing isn’t Mario Kart!”. Well, the game was heavily inspired by it. The fans are of the opinion that it might well beat Mario Kart 64 at its own game. Now you will ask “How?”. That is simple, it had full-blown adventure mode, planes and hovercrafts as well as karts, and amazing music.

The game has remained confined to the N64 platform since its launch. And every one of us thinks it deserves a chance on the Switch. If many classic titles made the leap, it’s only fitting for Diddy and his pals to rev up on the starting line.

You can check what Alex had to say about it in the video below.
