It’s a Date
This year at Annapurna Interactive Showcase, a bunch of titles were revealed and release dates announced. Outerloop Games has been working on Thirsty Suitors for a while, announcing it back in 2021. It is now expected to be launching this year in November.
This game is mixing a lot of elements in wacky ways to tell a personal, yet very relatable story. You play as Jala, who returns to her home town and confronts her past. She will encounter her exes and try to win her family’s elusive approval.
Thirsty Suitors draws a lot from South Asian culture and sets it in a modern American setting. However, there is a lot of over the top design choices mixed in. This helps create a more dramatic layer to Jala’s life and obstacles she encounters.

The trailer shows skateboarding sections á la Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater. There are also turn-based combat battles with Jala’s exes out for revenge and cooking mini-games with Jala’s mom. Different social encounters require different skills and approaches.
Thirsty Suitors will be released on November 2nd for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. It also appears that it will be available on Game Pass.
