Prepare to enter a land of light and dark. A universe where your shadow is your sole friend and light can help you destroy your enemies. Today, King’s Pleasure and Feardemic are proud to announce the release of a new demo for their upcoming Metroidvania, Cosmic: A Journey Among Shadows. Appearing at Steam Next Fest, the demo introduces players to Cosmic and its unique gameplay. Of course, a press release gives some more detail about the game. Furthermore, an official trailer gives gamers a look at the game in action.Â
Cosmic: A Journey Among Shadows introduces players to the titular character. As Cosmic players will adventure through a strange and mysterious universe full of weird places and weirder characters. Normally, Cosmic’s only friend is his shadow. Yet, upon waking up in a confusing and strange new world, he learns his shadow is gone and has been replaced with a larger, stronger, shadow. Players will explore multiple strange environments as they travel through this Metroidvania in search of their shadow and a way home. Importantly, players will need to learn how to use the power of light to eradicate their enemies, and the darkness to vanish.Â
Of course, the new trailer shows off the gameplay. Interestingly, the game functions off of fluid animations that highlight the game’s mechanics. For instance, players will need to use deadly melee combos, agility, and subterfuge to accomplish their goals. All of this and more can be seen in the new trailer. View it below.Â
