The City Must Stand
The survival of mankind rests in your hands. Once again, the ever-freezing cold is pushing humanity to the brink. Yet, this time, the weather is far from the only threat. At the PC Gaming Show, 11 Bit Studios revealed the sequel to their award-winning city-builder with the announcement of Frostpunk 2. Coming to PC in 2024, the game is bringing players back to the frozen world of the first game, only after a thirty-year time skip. A press release delves into some of the details of this familiar but different world. Additionally, the Studio gives players a better look at the game’s world with the new “The City Must Not Fall” trailer.
Frostpunk 2 reintroduces players to the world of the first game. However, thirty years after the events of the first game. Now, the city that players worked so hard to protect in the first game has grown and progressed. Yet, following years of storms, the world is much different. A clean slate. Things aren’t all good though. Players will need to ensure the survival of a much different city that is running out of supplies and falling slowly under the boots of oppression.
Importantly, Jakub Stokalski, game Co-Director, and Design Director at 11 Bit studios, shares his thoughts on the sequel.
“Frostpunk 2 is still a game about the City and its society,” he says, “But this time the inner turmoils, sparked by rising social differences, mean that players will be facing new kinds of threats that are beyond the bare survival of the first game.”
Of course, players can check out the new trailer for a glimpse of the game’s world. View the trailer below.
Frostpunk 2 is releasing in 2024 for PC on Steam. So, will you be ready to save the city once again?
