Trip World DX Coming to the West in Retro and Modern Flavors

XD XD XD

In 1992, there was a game released in Japan for the Game Boy called Trip World. It was released in Europe the following year. Since then, it had appeared on Nintendo’s Virtual Console, but again, only in Japan and Europe. Limited Run Games is giving Trip World DX a larger, modernized release.

There are a few different editions of the game that will be available. A physical standard edition will be available for PC, PS4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch. A Collector’s Edition will be available for the same platforms except PC, but you can also get a Retro Edition for Game Boy and Game Boy Color.

Trip World DX

Trip World DX Collector’s Edition comes with a physical copy of the game, a soundtrack on CD, a double-sided 18″x24″ poster, a Yakopoo plushie, and a Game Boy cartridge keychain. All these items are packed into a Collector’s Edition box.

The standard editions of Trip World DX will cost $35 on PC, PS4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch. Game Boy and Game Boy Color editions will cost $40, but customers can get the plushie from the Collector’s Edition as well for $65. The Collector’s Edition costs $75, so you can do the mental math and factor in personal value to determine if it is worth it.

Pre-orders for this game go live on April 28th and end on June 11th. Trip World DX’s shipping date has not been confirmed. It will be available on PC, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Game Boy, and Game Boy Color.
