Entering the Human Mind
The mind is a curious place. It can be everything all at once, or nothing. It can be a twisting maze, or a gentle sea. Or a place full of memory, or one that is slowly slipping. Today, Calathea Game Studio is happy to announce the release date for their first person adventure game, Inner Ashes. Releasing on June 30th for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox consoles, and PC via Steam, the game invites players on a heartrending journey into a breaking mind. A press release provides more details on the game. Additionally, players can check out the official trailer for a better look at the game.
Inner Ashes introduces players to the mind of Henry, a forest guard diagnosed with early on-set Alzheimer’s. Players embark on a journey into the deepest parts of Henry’s mind on a mission to discover why his daughter, Enid, disappeared from his life. Players will explore the mind in first person as they travel through unique and dream-like scenarios based on Henry’s day-to-day life and mind.
Interestingly, the game’s mechanics are centered around actual elements that are used to help Alzheimer’s patients. Players will take part in tangram puzzles, solve post-its and more. Of course, all of these things are actual methods doctors use to help patients. Additionally, players can check out the trailer for a look at the game itself. Check out the trailer below.
