Reedpop Confirms That E3 2023 Has Officially Been Cancelled

Reedpop along with Entertainment Software Association have confirmed that E3 2023 has been cancelled. The news brings a bitter end to one of the biggest video game expos in video game history. E3 was the premiere show for video game journalists, fans, media and for companies to show off their latest and upcoming games. The show was set to be hosted from 13th to 16th June, 2023, in Los Angeles. However, over the past few weeks, many publishers were withdrawing from the show, resulting in the show’s cancellation for this year.

Via its official Twitter, the company confirmed that the digital and physical events for the year would be cancelled. Furthermore, Kyle Marsden-Kich, Reedpop’s global VP, stated, “This was a difficult decision because of all the effort we and our partners put toward making this event happen, but we had to do what’s right for the industry and what’s right for E3.” Moreover, he explained that the company appreciated the difficulties companies were facing with playable demos and showcases.

However, interestingly, Marsden-Kich noted that Entertainment Software Assocation and Reedpop would continue to work together on future E3 events. As a result, fans are hopeful that the convention may make a return. Also, fans were worried for its future for some time as major publishers pulled out for various reasons. For example, Ubisoft hosts Ubisoft Forward and Microsoft has its own show.
