A Return to Form
It’s time for the side scrolling cross over of the century to go live. The grandfather of Metroidvanias makes its return with one of the top roguelike side scrollers of modern gaming. Today, Motion Twin and Evil Empire are happy to announce the launch of their Dead Cells crossover, Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania. The crossover is mashing the world of Dead Cells into the famous world of Castlevania. Of course, a press release provides more details on the collaboration. Additionally, a new launch trailer gives players a closer look at what’s waiting for them upon the return.
Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania is taking players back to the roots of the game with the grandfather of the Metroidvania genre. This time, everyone’s favorite beheaded hero is going on a trip to a whole new world. Of course, he’s going to be running into some issues. This is the home of Dracula after all, and not that welcoming to uninvited guests. Importantly, players won’t be alone. The famous Richter Belmont makes his return even as a playable character. Additionally, many items of Castlevania fame are also making an appearance. In fact, the DLC features 14 iconic weapons from Castlevania. For instance, weapons like the Vampire Killer, Throwing Axe and Holy Water.
