An open-world action-adventure release with plenty of chaos and mayhem to overcome, players were tasked with taking down hordes of enemies while aiming to preserve as much ammunition as possible. The storytelling in the game received numerous plaudits at the time of its release too, with the game delivering in a similar way to the movies.
Alien: Isolation more than delivered
The Alien franchise is one of the biggest movie franchises ever, although that didn’t necessarily always successfully translate into the gaming sphere judging by a number of shoddy releases. One that did hit the mark with gamers, though, was Alien: Isolation, a brilliant game with an engaging story. Players were left on the edge of their seats in this spooky product, with stealth tactics and killer weapons coming in handy in this one, particularly as there are a number of nasties to see off the further you progress in the game. One of the best horror video games ever, Alien: Isolation most definitely captured the terror of its source material.
GoldenEye 007 revolutionised the genre
Perhaps the most iconic game of all from this particular genre, GoldenEye 007 is easily one of the most loved games that are based on movies. Alongside the missions for Bond to complete and the hugely entertaining multiplayer modes, the game featured all of the characters and the weapons from the movie.
