Nintendo Has Confirmed Its Non-Attendance At E3 2023
Nintendo is one of the biggest video game companies in the world, alongside PlayStation and Microsoft. The three companies have led the way at numerous video game expos in the past. However, due to the pandemic and various management decisions, these companies, along with others such as Ubisoft, often conduct their own shows. Unfortunately, Nintendo has confirmed that it will not be in attendance at E3 2023.
The company in a release stated, “We approach our involvement in any event on a case-by-case basis and are always considering various ways to engage with our fans…Since this year’s E3 show didn’t fit into our plans, we have made the decision to not participate. However, we have been and continue to be a strong supporter of the ESA and E3.”
E3 2023 is carded for 13th June to 16th June. Thus far, it appears that Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo are skipping the event. Each company has its own show where it can unveil titles and games such as Sony’s State of Play and the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase. But, fans and visitors to the expo can look forward to other companies being present including Ubisoft. Ubisoft is a major video game publisher that has various titles under its belt including Assassin’s Creed, Rainbow Six: Siege and Skull and Bones.
The pandemic greatly affected the need for physical expos and companies preferred to invest in their own show in the interim.
