Baldur’s Gate III Xbox Series Edition Is Facing Some Technical Issues

Larian Studios announced that the long-awaited Baldur’s Gate III will be releasing on PlayStation 5, PC via Steam and GOG and Mac on August 31st, 2023. To celebrate the announcement, the developers also released a cool trailer showing off the game. However, fans were concerned as to the status of the Xbox Edition and whether there was some exclusivity. Today, in the subreddit, Carroll of Larian Studios addressed the concerns.

In the subreddit, Carroll stated, “Xbox players, we’ve seen your questions about if/when you can expect Baldur’s Gate 3 on Xbox. We’ve had an Xbox version of Baldur’s Gate 3 in the works for some time, but we have run into some technical issues – particularly with split-screen co-op. We are still working on an Xbox version of BG3, but we’re not yet confident enough to announce it. We don’t like announcing anything until we’re ready, because we don’t want to get peoples hopes up until we’re sure we can deliver.”

Therefore, the developers have confirmed that there are no exclusivity issues or otherwise. At this stage, the developers are working on creating a great final product ahead of its release on Xbox platforms. In Baldur’s Gate III, General Ketheric Thorm leads an army of undead towards the city of Baldur’s Gate. Thorm will be voiced by iconic actor, J.K. Simmons, who previously starred in Spider-Man. It is a fast paced RPG that released in early access in 2020.
