Sweet Fighters
Today’s State of Play has served us a bunch of new looks from upcoming games. We saw Resident Evil 4 Remake, as well as another Capcom series return, Street Fighter 6. Of course with this series, it is all about the characters. Two fan-favorites are returning and another is making their debut.
First up is Zangief. 400 pounds of pure Russian muscle, this fighter that takes professional wrestling and brings the passion and pain to life. Zangief first appeared in Street Fighter 2. His combat style involves a lot of grabs, throws, haymakers, stomps; anything to use his size and power to his advantage.
The newcomer to Street Fighter 6 is named Lily. She is a young native Mexican woman from the Thunderfoot tribe. Lily is very in touch with nature and animals, which she gets her power from. She uses a pair of curved club-like weapons, though she appears to be a little clumsy and inexperienced.
The next returning character is Cammy. The British bruiser and total babe who would kick my ass. She is one of the most popular characters in Street Fighter. Her outfit is different from her iconic green leotard, but she is no less agile and destructive. Fans of the Street Fighter animated movies will recognize that Cammy performs one of her incredible throw moves.
These three characters cover a lot of bases when it comes to classic Street Fighter character design. Many fans have been waiting to see Zangief and Cammy, but Lily will be fitting in right at home in this roster.
Street Fighter 6 will be coming out on June 2nd for PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
