Larian Studios Confirms That Baldur’s Gate 3 Will Release In Late August
Larian Studios, at the State of Play showcase, announced that Baldur’s Gate 3, the latest iteration in the franchise, will release on 31st August, 2023. It will be available on PC, PlayStation 5 and Mac. Furthermore, the developers made the announcement via a cool reveal trailer.
In the trailer, viewers get a first look at the game’s protagonist, General Ketheric Thorm, an invincible necromancer who is leading an army of dead towards the city of Baldur’s Gate. Moreover, the protagonist is voiced by J.K. Simmons. J.K. Simmons is an American actor who has starred in Spider-Man, Invincible and Whiplash. Additionally, viewers got a look at the game’s split-screen co-op and controller support.
Also, interested players can pre-order the Standard, Deluxe and Collector’s Edition of the game. Larian Studios confirmed that PC players that purchased the Early Access edition of the game were automatically upgraded to the Deluxe Edition. Some of the benefits in the Collector’s and Deluxe Edition include a keyring, in-game cosmetics and a pack of items inspired by the award-winning game, Divinity: Original Sin II.
In the game, players must gather their party and return to the Forgotten Realms where they will unlock mysterious powers and abilities. The game features an expansive and original story, from the developers of Divinity: Original Sin II, and gives players freedom to experiment, explore and interact with the world.
