Factorio Sells 3.5 Million Copies

Nothing Stops Progress

The fires of industry don’t seem to be slowly down anytime soon. In fact, more than 3 million factories are now up and running in the world of Factorio. Wube Software LTD announced that their hit factory building game, Factorio, has sold over 3.5 million copies as of the end of 2022. Importantly, the info comes to fans, players, and the gaming community at large via a blog post from the developers.

For those who are unaware, Factorio is a factory management game. Players are in control of a factory and their job is to make it  as successful as possible. Of course, players will be mining resources, researching technologies, building infrastructure, automating production and fighting enemies.

“This year we have reached another sales milestone, with 3.5 million sales being passed this Christmas.” Says Wube Software in the post. “We are still having steady and consistent sales of about 500,000 each year, which in retrospect validates the original no-sale policy we have stuck with since we launched on Steam in 2016.”

In addition to sharing thoughts on the sales milestone, the developers of Factorio discussed their Nintendo Switch sales. Sharing that they have sold over 40,000 copies since the Switch release in October of 2022.

Factorio is currently available on Nintendo Switch and PC. Players are able to purchase the game on Steam for $40.00. So, will you be joining the 3.5 million other factories currently up and running? What are you waiting for, start running your own factory today. Congrats to Wube Software and Factorio.
