KRAFTON Has Acquired The Developers Behind The Ascent
KRAFTON Inc. is one of the biggest video game companies in the world. The company is slowly building a conglomerate of popular developers that produce quality games. KRAFTON is focused on creativity, technological development and building diverse IPs and immersive worlds filled with fun moments. Today, the company has announced that it has acquired Neon Giant, a video game developer.
KRAFTON’s announcement came during its earnings report, which stated that the acquisition was part of continued investment into development and premium titles. Neon Giant is described as a small team of experience industry veterans that has worked on some of the biggest titles in the industry. The company debuted their talent with the release of The Ascent. The Ascent is a solo and co-op action shooter and RPG set in a cyberpunk world. It is available on PC and consoles and was generally well received. The company is currently working on its second title, an open-world first person shooter.
KRAFTON’s acquisition of Neon Giant comes as no surprise. The company has expanded its list of developers recently. Currently, under its umbrella, KRAFTON is responsible for titles such as Subnautica, The Callisto Protocol, TERA and of course, PUBG: Battlegrounds. Interested fans can look forward to the release of Callisto Protol on December 2nd on multiple platforms.
Neon Giant will join other major studios under the KRAFTON Inc banner including PUBG Studios, Bluehole Studios, RisingWings, Striking Distance Studios, Unknown Worlds and Dreamotion.
