Battlefield 2042 Heads to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate & EA Play
Battlefield 2042 will soon be available for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and EA Play subscribers. According to DICE, it will be ready for both services “with the launch of Season 3.” Unfortunately, an actual launch date for the game’s third season has yet to be confirmed.
However, it is worth noting that Season 2 began in late August. With that said, it is safe to say that it is due to end soon.
Battlefield 2042 devs also planned some free access periods for December. These will reportedly be accessible to all platforms. Xbox users can try out the title free of charge from December 1st to the 4th. Steam players, on the other hand, can sample it from December 1st to the 5th. Meanwhile, PlayStation owners can try it out from December 16th to the 23rd.
Fans of the game are well aware that EA had previously promised to roll out four seasons of live service content over the course of a year. DICE backed up this information in their announcement today. “We are already in pre-production on new content that will come after Season 4 next year,” they said.
Battlefield 2042 Season 3 will be called Escalation. More information regarding the upcoming season will be revealed later this month. “In Seasons 3 and 4, we will continue to bring evolved versions of our existing maps from launch,” devs continued. “You are already playing these reworked versions of Kaleidoscope, Renewal, and Orbital.”
Furthermore, they also confirmed that players can “get to play on new versions of Manifest and Breakaway” when Season 3 finally goes live.
