A Literal ReturnÂ
After decades of waiting it is time for a return. Today Terrible Toybox and Devolver Digital are happy to announce the release of the long awaited: Return to Monkey Island. It only took thirty years, but the game has finally arrived and on “talk like a pirate day” of all days. A press release provides more details about the game. Additionally, the release trailer gives players a glimpse of the return to the island.Â
Return to Monkey Island bring players back to the iconic point-and-click adventure. However, it’s time for a new generation of pirates to take on the many puzzles and traps of Monkey Island. It’s been many years since  Guybrush Threepwood first faced his nemesis: The Zombie Pirate LeChuck. Of course now, players will return to greet old friends and enemies. Importantly players will be able to journey around the familiar archipelago that includes Melee Island, Terror Island, Monkey Island, and uncharted territory.Â
As the first game came out three decades ago there have been a lot of updates visually. However, the core gameplay remains the same. Players can of course get a glimpse of the game in the release trailer. The trailer provides a look at the art style, gameplay, and a great overview of the swashbuckling adventure that awaits players.Â
