Today, BAFTA-Winning Studio, Junkfish is happy to announce that their asymmetrical horror game, Monstrum 2, is out now on Steam. A press release provides more info on the game itself. Monstrum 2 introduces players to an asymmetrical horror experience. Welcome to the most messed up game of cat-and-mouse you’ve ever seen. One player will be taking on the role of one of three bloodthirsty monsters. Of course this means the other four players are the prisoners attempting to escape Sparrow-Lock prison with their lives.Â
The players aiming to survive will need to use everything they can. During their escape attempts they will solve puzzles, run, hide, and use their wits to survive. Stealth and teamwork are essential to avoiding a gruesome death at the hands of one of the monsters. Importantly each of the three monsters will bring a different playstyle. Bashing, slashing, and phasing, you choose how you will hunt your prey. Of course, the game consists of a procedurally generated prison where players must scavenge for items across the Sea Fortress and use tools at your own disposal to overcome obstacles. This means each escape attempt will feel different.Â
