Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Netflix Series Will Release In Mid September
The Cyberpunk universe kicked off in gaming with the release of Cyberpunk 2077. Fans had mixed reviews for the game after a ton of hype. However, CD Projekt Red, the team who also worked on the Witcher series, has announced the release date for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, which will premiere on Netflix. It is set to release on September 13th, 2022. The team also released a high energy trailer to hold fans over!
Studio Trigger assisted CD Projekt Red in making the series, which will feature ten episodes that will premiere at the same time on the streaming platform. In the game, David Martinez is trying to survive in a city filled with body modification and technology. As a result, David becomes an Edgerunner, or a mercenary outlaw. Moreover, in the trailer, viewers are given a first look at the animation style, dialogue and high octane combat and action that the series has to offer.
The team behind the game is comprised of various talented and experienced individuals. For example, Akira Yamaoka conducted the score and worked on the Silent Hill series while others such as Hiroyuki Imaishi and Yoh Yoshinari worked on other prominent anime series.
Netflix has shown great initiative in picking up video game titles to animated series. Thus far, gamers can head to Netflix to watch various series such as Arcane, Dota: Dragon’s Blood, Tekken: Bloodline and the live-action Witcher series. Furthermore, fans have been able to enjoy a Mortal Kombat movie recently amongst others.
