Esports, or electronic sports, have redefined how we think about competitions, skills, and teamwork.
The training required for this niche’s performance indeed looks different from what we considered sports training in the past.
However, the same involvement and effort are put into becoming a respectable and valued player in esports as it is in other physical sports.
Today we celebrate the best 2022 tournaments of one of the most popular games in esports history – Counter-Strike: Global Offensive! Since not all big events claimed a winner yet, the following statistics stop at June 2022.
CS:GO 2022 Tournament Results So Far
While we wait for Valve to move Counter-Strike: Global Offensive to Source 2, let’s talk about what the CS:GO teams have been doing in the world-class championships.
When it comes to tournaments and statistics, there are a few things we want to know:
- First, we want to know the playoffs and overall match score.
- Second, we need to name the MVP of the event and their stats. Plus, we’ll see how the teams shared the prize pool.
Keep in mind that these are only the “Big Events” of this year’s CS:GO event palette.
 IEM Katowice 2022
Intel Extreme Masters Katowice opened the “Big Events” calendar for this year. This tournament is not a Major event like PGL Major Antwerp, but it’s one of the most important competitions within the CS:GO category.
During the time of this event, both CS:GO player numbers and twitch spectators had growing numbers. We know this by following the Steam charts and Twitch tracker during the events.
For example, during the IEM Katowice event in February, the group finals coincide with a peak of 214.236 viewers watching CS:GO content on Twitch. Later, during this event’s finale, the number of spectators peaked at 206.608.
