Wicki-Wild, Wild Hunt
I don’t know about you, but it seemed that there was a noticeable delay between the first two seasons of The Witcher. Of course, that was due to the pandemic, but it is nice to see that The Witcher Season 3 has entered production already.
Earlier today, Netflix announced that Henry Cavill, Freya Allen, Anya Charlotte, and other cast members had returned to the set. They also released a photo of the three leads on set and a plot summary of The Witcher Season 3:
“As monarchs, mages and beasts of the Continent compete to capture her, Geralt takes Ciri of Cintra into hiding, determined to protect his newly reunited family against those who threaten to destroy it. Entrusted with Ciri’s magical training, Yennefer leads them to the protected fortress of Aretuza, where she hopes to discover more about the girl’s untapped powers; instead, they discover they’ve landed in a battlefield of political corruption, dark magic and treachery. They must fight back, put everything on the line — or risk losing each other forever.”
SPOILERS: When we last saw Geralt and friends, at the end of season 2, he, Ciri, and Yennefer were briefly transported to the realm of monsters. There, they caught a glimpse of The Wild Hunt. In The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, they are in pursuit of Ciri for her power to manipulate space and time. In the care of Geralt, Ciri begins her training in combat and, under the watch of Yennefer, magic.
Right now, The Witcher Season 3 does not have a premiere date. Hopefully, we will see it toward the end of 2022. The previous seasons have premiered in December, so the next season may follow the same pattern.
