Breaking Down RPG Elements in Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong

Role Preying Game

For us mortals, it has been an eternity since the last Vampire: The Masquerade game. Now, it seems we are getting, like three in the next year or two. Between the upcoming games, Swansong is the only one with a solid release date, which is set for this Spring.

Today, publisher Nacon showed us some more gameplay, just as they had done last week. Throughout the game, you will play as Galeb, Leysha, and Emem. Each of these vampires have different abilities and strengths, which will aid you in certain situations.

The new video shows us the RPG mechanics in play. Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong uses a lot of mechanics inspired by the series roots as a tabletop game. All three characters have their own character sheet, which you can consult to view your strengths and weaknesses.

Each of the characters also have unique Disciplines. Emem can view possible futures by focusing on an object and Leysha can teleport short distances to reach inaccessible areas. Players can also upgrade abilities to help them achieve their objectives.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong’s story puts Galeb, Leysha, and Emem at the center of a conspiracy against their sect. The abilities they have will be used in their investigations. Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong is expected to launch on May 19th for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
