Insider States That Next Persona Game a Spin Off

Insider Reports That Next Possible Persona Game Will Not Be Persona 6

Persona series has been a very much beloved series coming out through the PlayStation, with the latest being Persona 5: Royal. Royal came out in  2019, which isn’t so long ago, but Persona 5 came out in 2016. Suffice to say, it’s been a few years since the last game. While we’ve had a chance to enjoy Shin Megami Tensei V, and even have the word of a different Megami Tensei spin-off, there is certainly a desire for the next Persona.

And we may have it, though not as directly as Persona 6, with a whole new story, characters, and more.

Instead, according to the insider report of Zippo, a reliable source of Persona information reported a few interesting tidbits. One of which was that while it would be a Persona game, it would not uphold the previous gameplay styles. What’s more, instead of staring Joker or some of the previous party members, this game, currently untitled, would star Goro Akechi, who had been previously the rival and foil of Joker, particularly in Persona 5 Royale.

Moreover, the insider stated that this would not be a typical RPG Persona game and that instead, this game would be “on his adventures and skills as a star detective.” This makes it sound as if this upcoming game may be geared towards primarily being a mystery-solving game. And that also, reading between the lines, we would be hearing more about this game, and soon.

However, as this is an insider report, and not from the developer nor the publishers, this report may have to be taken with a grain of salt. While the report may be from a reliable source, things may change, and it’s best to have it confirmed by those who would be developing the game itself.

That said, we hope to hear from Atlus soon whether we will see a new game!
