Knockout City Will Go Free-to-Play in Season Six

Down for the Count

For the past nine months, players Knockout City players have been enjoying their full-contact, street dodgeball. The game will be starting up its fifth season soon, but the developers are looking even farther ahead. In Season Six, big changes are hitting the streets of Knockout City.

Season Five will be known as Greatest Hits. Get it? There’s a lot of hitting in the game. Season Five will be a nice wrap-up of the game’s first year of content. However, once Season Six hits, the game will become free-to-play.

Players who bought the game at full price might feel ripped off, but there are bonuses that they will receive. If you bought the game, you will get the Season Six Loyalty Bundle, which includes exclusive legendary cosmetics, XP boosts, and 2,000 Holobux. Since there are subscriptions that allow players to play Knockout City for free, it is unclear if these players will be eligible for the Loyalty Bundle. Subscribers of Xbox Game Pass and EA Play have had access to the game since day one.

Not only will the game be free-to-play, but the developers Velan Studios will be taking over publishing responsibilities from EA. We do not know exactly what will be different, but Velan Studios says they will be able to “fully realize our vision for the long-term future of this game.

Knockout City is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
