Give Back Our 4K Boyfriends!
As fans of WayForward patiently await the follow-up to River City Girls, there is some news about the first game. The PlayStation 5 port of the game has a release date, and it is pretty soon. You may have a reason to return to the first game for a quick warm up.
2022 is expected to see the release of River City Girls 2 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. However, a definitive release date is still unknown. You may be in for a bit of a wait. In the meantime, you will be able to boot up River City Girls on PS5 pretty soon.
Later this month, Misako and Kyoko will be kicking butt on PlayStation 5. WayForward has also announced that the game will support some DualSense features, but those have remained a mystery. Maybe we will get some nice punching and kicking sounds or something.
Get ready to rumble! The digital PS5 version of River City Girls is planned to arrive in North America and Europe on Jan. 18! Help Misako and Kyoko rescue Kunio and Riki, either solo or in local co-op beat-’em-up action – now with DualSense features and Activity functionality! pic.twitter.com/D2acsGkcVd

Of course, owners of the PS4 version will get the PS5 update free of charge. Unfortunately for Xbox owners, there is no Series X|S version planned for the game. There is also little chance that friends will be able to play with each other since the game only supports local co-op. Even if there was to be an online co-op update, chances would be even worse for PlayStation to consoles to support crossplay.
Like we said, we still don’t have a solid release date for the sequel, but River City Girls is out for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. It will be coming to PS5 on January 18th.
