Court Tells Youtuber to Stop What They’re Doing

It’s Come To the Point That A Certain Youtuber Is Considered a Terrorist Threat

Back in late 2021,  YouTuber Benjamin “Ruben Sim” Simon had been taken to court by the Roblox Corporation. While gaming companies have taken individuals to court before, or vice versa, this case is a little unusual in that this is about the YouTuber’s ongoing harassment of the company and the community.

According to a Polygon report, Roblox has dropped the number of damages they want to be paid by Simon from 160K to 150K. Simon in return posted a video last week via YouTube. In it, he was defending s character allegations in court. But that may be too little too late, considering the nature of what he is accused of.

Roblox had, according to the report, gotten around an IP ban put into place years ago by having other people create accounts for Simon and by hacking. And too, this comes from Simon reportedly alluding to a terrorist attack on Twitter at the Roblox Developers Conference in late 2021.

So as a consequence, the court has banned Simon from Roblox. As well, Simon has agreed not to gain access to the platform, no more false statements about Roblox or its employees. Simon is also not allowed to go near the offices. As well, he is not allowed to post or republish,  “false threats of terrorist activity relating to Roblox,” according to the report.

This may cause a sigh of relief for Roblox players. According to Roblox lawyers, he had been “harassing users and using racist and homophobic slurs, as well as for sexual harassment and uploading photos of Adolf Hitler” which had caused the ban in the first place.

Whether Simon will hold up to the Court order not uploading videos about or in Roblox, or keep off Twitter about it, will have to be seen, especially after the lessening of the fine.
