Chaos Comes to Consoles
Today Warhammer: 40,000 Battlesector, developed by Slitherine Software, unleashes on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Set in Games Workshop’s grimdark, future the tactical, turn-based, strategy game has now brought the warfare of the 41st millennium to consoles.Â
The game arrives on consoles with a list of updated features. Updated control schemes, user-interface, as well as full achievement and trophy systems will hopefully mean a smooth experience for consoles. In addition to these updates, Battlesector is expanding in 2022 with new maps, factions, and game-modes. The first two DLC packs are available for both PC and consoles and each add new elite units.Â
“These DLCs will be a small taste of what’s in store for the future of Battlesector, with new armies, game modes and features all in the works,” Said Slitherine Software in an FAQ post.
Battlesector also features a “hot-seat” multiplayer where two players will be able to battle it out on the same console. This feature comes in addition to live multiplayer matches that give the brutal combat of Warhammer: 40,000 a competitive sheen.Â
Speaking of competitive, Slitherine has announced, in the FAQ, that they have begun beta-testing a new tournament system. They say the tournament system will be a structured way to engage in multiplayer.Â
Slitherine has stated, in the FAQ, that they are “immensely excited to bring Battlesector to consoles. We feel that we’ve maintained the visual fidelity and gameplay pace of the PC version”
The game also features a single-player campaign that focuses on the legion of Blood Angels fighting against an overwhelming horde of tyranids. The story mode will also introduce the Primaris Marines.Â
New DLC’s, arriving in 2022, will be announced and detailed at the Slitherine “Home of the Wargamers” event on December 14th. Slitherine will detail new factions, units, and maps during the event. Warhammer: 40,000 Battlesector is available on Xbox Game Pass as well as in the Windows store.Â
