Hori’s New Collection for Game Freak’s Upcoming Game
Pokémon: Legends Arceus is coming out on January 28, 2022. In celebration of Game Freak’s newest game, Hori has produced a series of Switch accessories themed around it.
The accessories are a backpack, a Switch case and a Switch Split Pad Pro. Each of the items has the game’s poster pokémon Arceus plastered on the front of them. The backpack is quite small, but it can at least fit your switch. The Switch case functions the same way as standard cases. There are two straps inside that hold the undocked Switch in place, a series of small pockets to hold switch cartridges in and a zipper on the outside. The Switch Split Pad Pro has the same design as standard models. It offers a bigger grip on both sides and slightly different button positions. It’s important to note that the Switch Split Pad Pro doesn’t have the same features as normal joy cons. It doesn’t have motion controls or HD rumble to name a few.
The product is made by Hori. Hori is a company that’s officially licensed by Nintendo to create custom-designed Switch accessories. The company is known for making custom fighting game controllers for all platforms. Nintendo licensed them to make all kinds of Switch products themed around their various properties. It’s only natural Nintendo would capitalize on their relationship with the company to promote the upcoming Pokémon game.
Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl just came out earlier this month, and Nintendo is already jumping on the marketing opportunities for the next game. As Pokémon: Legends Arceus’ release date gets closer, there will likely be a lot more pokémon-themed things coming from Nintendo in the near future. You can buy all of these accessories and more directly from Hori’s website.
