The New Tchia Gameplay Trailer Looks Beautiful
The new Tchia gameplay trailer does a fantastic job of showing off the beautiful island world. The art style is great, and it really does look like an indie Breath of the Wild with its own unique twists. The trailer shows off New Caledonia while giving a breakdown of the different game mechanics.
The gameplay trailer does show that Tchia is clearly inspired by Breath of the Wild. They both have a focus on the open world with a stamina meter used for climbing. Tchia works to separate itself by another mechanic showcased in the new trailer. Tchia has the ability to soul-jump.
This means that Tchia has the ability to jump into another creature or even an object and control it. She can take control of birds to fly through the sky or fish to swim in the water. Or a later because you never know when you might need to be a lantern.
What I found most impressive from the new Tchia gameplay trailer really was the attention to detail. Trees saying when you jump on them really make the world feel alive and reactive. I think the game looks gorgeous, and I am certainly interested in it.
I’ll admit it and say I’m not actually that big a fan of Breath of the Wild. I think it is good, but it has its share of flaws that really hold it back. However, I’m pleased to see games be inspired by its open nature. The open-world was by far the best part of Breath of the Wild, and I love that focus on exploration.
If Tchia manages to play just half as nice as it looks, then it will be a fantastic game. I look forward to seeing more on Tchia but not too much more. It is a world I want to explore for myself.
