Astroneer Blasts Onto Switch Next Month

Space Sandbox Game Astroneer Comes to the Switch January 13

System Era Softworks has announced an official release date for Astroneer on the Nintendo Switch. Starting today, players can pre-order the acclaimed space sandbox adventure before its digital January 13 release. Players who pre-order Astroneer will also receive in-game rewards. The EXO Outfitters bundle will include a palette and visor customization set and is redeemable in-game until February 28.

Astroneer will also get a physical copy release for Switch sometime next year. Supply chain issues have delayed the Switch’s physical edition. However, players who wait for the physical copy will receive a code for the Tunic bundle.

Astroneer

For those who aren’t familiar with Astroneer, the game is set in the 25th century’s Intergalactic Age of Discovery. Here, Astroneers explore the frontiers of outer space to unearth rare discoveries and unlock the universe’s many mysteries. Players can work together to build custom bases and vehicles, using the terrain to give them the best chance at thriving on a foreign planet. Check out the Switch gameplay trailer below.

The Switch version will feature the complete Astroneer experience, including the brand new update Xenobiology. This update will introduce mysterious creatures and new adventures. While the update will include these new elements, it will also introduce narrative elements where players will explore the game’s larger universe. Xenobiology is available on January 13 as well.

Astoneers looking to play the game on the go can pre-order the award-winning game today on the Nintendo Switch online store. What can you create on an unexplored planet with the expertise of an Astroneer?
