Assassin’s Creed Valhalla DLC – Dawn of Ragnarok Striking in March

Big news day for Assassin’s Creed fans. Ubisoft has announced a surprise crossover story for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Odyssey. Ubisoft has also confirmed the release of the next Assassin’s Creed Valhalla DLC: Dawn of Ragnarok. There had been rumors of what this DLC would be and they turned out to be true.

A previous leak had suggested that Eivor, being played as Odin, would gain new abilities. These abilities include teleportation arrows, ice powers, and resurrection, among other things. The cinematic trailer shows these abilities put into action.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla Dawn of Ragnarok

We see Odin fighting against Jötnar and other fiery demons, including what appears to be Surtr. He uses shapeshifting abilities to transform into a raven to attack enemies. Odin also uses magic arrows to close the distance between enemies at farther ranges.

The trailer tells a story that alludes to Odin’s son Baldr being held prisoner. Baldr’s death is often told to be the catalyst for what begins Ragnarok. If the DLC is called Dawn of Ragnarok, does that mean there is going to be a continuation of the Ragnarok story, or will it all be contained in one go?

In the base game, Eivor visits Asgard through visions. These visions will likely introduce the new Assassin’s Creed Valhalla DLC in the same way. Hopefully, Evior can bring these abilities gained in Asgard back to England in their own time. Dawn of Ragnarok will be available on March 10th, 2022. If you pre-order the DLC, you can get the Twilight Pack for free. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Stadia.
