Marvel’s Midnight Suns Has Been Delayed to Second Half of 2022

Marvel’s Midnight Suns Won’t Be Out Until the Second Half of 2022

Marvel’s Midnight Suns has officially been delayed until the second half of 2022. Firaxis Games made the official announcement on social media that they decided to delay the launch of the turn-based role-playing game, despite having originally scheduled its release for March.

We decided to share that we have made the very tough decision to move our launch window to the second half of 2022,” Marvel’s Midnight Suns devs confirmed. “We know many fans were looking forward to playing the game originally next spring, and the decision did not come lightly.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns, unfortunately, did not make waves when it was first revealed to the gaming public in September. Although it may have some similarities with XCOM, Firaxis has stated that it will be “completely different”—with Marvel’s Midnight Suns being partly a card game. The gameplay trailer got 5,000 dislikes and 12,000 likes. These figures are not entirely disappointing, but it is definitely far from overwhelming enthusiasm from the gaming community.

With a relatively sub-par reception from the community, it is not completely surprising that the devs decided to delay the game’s launch. “We decided to push our launch because we need more time to make this the best game possible,” the devs continued. “We believe in our creative vision for Marvel’s Midnight Suns and want to do justice in delivering an unforgettable adventure set in the supernatural side of Marvel.

Also, it is worth noting that the first part of 2022 is already set to be a busy time for the gaming world—with much-awaited releases for Dying Light 2, Destiny 2: The Witch Queen, God of War, and many more. It may be true that Marvel’s Midnight Suns devs are not actively looking for a less crowded stage when they launch their product, but it definitely would not hurt.
