Boss It
This morning, Geoff Keighley had shown off another title we are expecting to see at this year’s Gamescom; Saints Row. It’s been a long time since we were adventuring with the Third Street Saints. When we last left off, they were the last surviving members of humanity in a spaceship and Johnny Gat and Kenzie had just saved the Boss from Satan.
The Saints Row series has always been about going bigger and getting crazier, so where are they supposed to go from Gat out of Hell? The answer seems to be to wipe the slate clean and start again.
When the series was first starting out, Saints Row was trying to cash in on the GTA hype. It was basically a clone. It started to find its own voice and become its own thing in Saints Row II.
By the look of the graffiti teaser on the reboot’s website, we may be returning to the grimy streets we started out on. No more of the alien blasters or demon swords, but keep the dildo bats. Those are fun. Of course, we would love for Deep Silver to preserve the je ne sais quoi that makes it a Saints Row game.
5 days until @gamescom #OpeningNightLive on Wednesday.
