That’s a Lot of Deaths
Chivalry 2 is a first-person medieval slasher and a sequel to Chivalry. It is also very good. I don’t seem to be alone in that opinion as it has been announced that Chivalry 2 has sold over 1 million copies.
That is a great number to see from a rather niche title. This success also means we should hopefully see more content. John Gibson, Tripwire CEO, had this to say:
“We’ve been blown away by the response from players and critics alike, and the team is already hard at work on more great free content and adding highly requested features such as cross-platform parties.”
Alongside hitting the million sale mark, Tripwire has also released some fun stats. Over 420 million knights have died in battle, the officer is the most used class, the Messer is the number one used weapon, and collectively people have played over 8 million total hours.
It is clear the gamers have enjoyed those 8 million hours. I am guilty of at least a few of those hours and I will put in at least a few hours more because it really is a fun game to just turn your mind off and slash enemies.
It is great to see games like this being further supported with free content. Chivalry 2 deserves to have a long lifespan, and the devs seem committed to making that happen. People have latched on and are excited to see more.
It will also be nice if it can get party support for cross-platform play. Allowing more people to play together is a great goal that I really hope to keep seeing in multiplayer titles.
You can pick up Chivalry 2 now on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC for $39.99
