There May Also Be No Judgment 3
With the excitement around Judgment’s PS5 and Xbox Series X|S release and the upcoming release of its sequel, Lost Judgment, fans may understand that neither games will be coming to PC, at least there are no plans for that. You may be wondering why, like so many others.
All the Yakuza games are on PC, so why would a Yakuza spin-off like Judgment or Lost Judgment not also? Apparently, the lead voice actor, Takuya Kimura’s talent agency Johnny’s is against a release on Steam, whereas Sega is very much for it. This conflict is putting the entire sub-series on rocky ground.
This information comes from the Japanese website Nikkan Taishu. The translation is a little tough, but the basic story is that the strain between Johnny’s and Sega is ultimately making the Judgment games suffer. Sega wants the games on Steam, but Johnny’s doesn’t.
Releasing Judgment and Lost Judgment on Steam could really boost the sales for them. Unfortunately, if those games do not sell well enough, that could be it for those games.
The reasoning behind Johnny’s strict policy is kind of strange. The main issue they have appears to be that PCs and Steam have this inherent connection to the internet, and they do not want their actors’ portraits so directly connected to the internet. We have to ask ourselves, do these people live on planet Earth? Do they know what the internet is? Do they know how game consoles and PCs work?
This is very confusing, if not outright nonsensical, and a shame that these games could be put on the chopping block because of it. Judgment is out now on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Lost Judgment will also be coming out on September 21st on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
