PlayStation Confirms Nixxes Software Will Assist in Porting to PC

PlayStation Studios Have Confirmed That Nixxes Software Will Assist In Ports

From time immemorial, PlayStation have kept their exclusives close to their chest and most fans felt that games like God of War and Uncharted would never hit the PC. However, following the releases of Days Gone and Horizon Zero Dawn, as well as their relative success, PlayStation Studios seemed to have a change of heart.

Nixxes Software is a Dutch company that leads the industry in video game design as well as porting. Nixxes Software endeavors to provide gamers with the best experience possible, regardless of platform. In July of this year, Sony announced their acquisition of Nixxes Software, leading many to hint at the possibility of further ports to PC. Nixxes Software was responsible for porting many major titles including Tomb Raider and Marvel’s Avengers.

Today, in an interview with Famitsu, Sony Interactive Entertainment’s President and CEO Jim Ryan, was asked a series of questions, one of which concerned Sony’s recent acquisitions and partnership agreements. In response, Mr. Ryan stated, “We are also happy with our efforts to provide our IP to PCs, although it is still in its infancy, and we look forward to working with Nixxes to help with that.”

With the success of Horizon Zero Dawn and Days Gone as well as Microsoft’s clear initiative to mesh Xbox and PC worlds using their Microsoft Game Pass, it is unsurprising that PlayStation may look to enter the market of porting their games across.

There is no confirmation yet on the prospective titles however PC gaming fans, myself included, have been dreaming about titles such as Bloodborne, The Last of Us and God of War for years.
